Job TITLE: Sr. Network Engineer

Location: San Jose, CA

Term: Contract to Hire

Skill: • Work with other team members and groups to identify and develop. architect, and deliver scalable network design solutions and services. • Ensure continued smooth operation of the global network infrastructure. • Support internal groups by identifying and presenting their network-impacting requirements to the rest of the network engineering team. • Lead solution designing, architecture, and implementation of growing network service portfolio with minimal supervision. • Participate in the rotating "on call" schedule with other members of the team providing third-tier support, solving the more complex networking trouble. • Level 3 Support for problems identified with network. Will act as and escalation for Level 1 and Level 2. • Participate in after-hours upgrades, troubleshooting, and/or on-call availability as needed. • Standard network administration duties including network hardware, i.e. switches, firewalls, network/security devices installs and patch management, Network problem determination and resolution, log analysis, etc. • Configure, test, and maintain all network infrastructure and services, including switches, routers, firewalls and VPN. • Identify, diagnose, and resolve network problems including network connectivity, traffic utilization, etc. using available network tools in a timely fashion. • Design, implement, and support monitoring services, using network monitoring and management tools such as Solarwinds and Zenoss. • Assist with monthly reports, and recommendations for staff and management. • Interface with third party vendors on as needed basis.

Experience: • Candidate should be very seasoned network engineer with extensive experience and expertise in network administration, engineering, solution design, architecture, implementation, and service delivery • Team players with excellent written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to
manage assignments independently • Expertise in TCP, IP[v4|v6], and related networking protocols • Extensive experience with LAN/WAN with latest platforms and architecture to include Arista, Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, Aruba, FireEye, Dell, Fortigate, and Juniper platforms. • Support network infrastructure for virtualized enivonments with multiple OS platforms and hypervisors including IP address management and schemes, DHCP, VLANs, Ether-Channel (Bonding), wifi, and etc. • In-depth understanding of network hardware platforms and their specifications in the datacenter space • Experience troubleshooting stateful packet flows and common network issues • Excellent time management and communication skills • The ideal candidate will have a nurturing personality and the desire to help in the development and mentoring of level 1-2 staff. • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment. • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on projects to completion.. • Documents network problems and resolution for future reference. • Physical unboxing, rack, stack of network hardware, patching, clean-up, shipping associated, and related devices.

Education: • 7+ years of network engineering experience. Prior experience working for a service provider is a plus • 5 years of experience with a service provider or enterprise-level network in engineering or design roles. Architecture experience is plus • BA/BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. • Experience in network routing protocol troubleshooting in BGP, OSPF, IS-IS and MPLS. • Network certifications (CCNP, CCIE, or JNCIE) or equivalent work experience. • Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP, GRE, IPSec, POS, PPP, VRRP, HSRP and SNMP protocols. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to influence others on network engineering solutions.
